Omakase is a Japanese phrase that means "I'll leave it up to you." At Northend Leoat, this means you are entrusting our head chef to create a unique, multi-course tasting menu for you. The dishes are based on the absolute best and freshest seasonal ingredients available on that day, offering a spontaneous and exclusive culinary journey.

Is there a specific dress code for dining at your restaurant?

To maintain the elegant atmosphere of our dining room, we adhere to a 'smart casual' dress code. We kindly ask that our guests refrain from wearing sportswear, shorts, or overly casual t-shirts and sandals. A collared shirt for gentlemen and similar attire for ladies is recommended to ensure a refined and enjoyable experience for all of our guests.

How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?

Due to our intimate seating arrangement and the detailed preparation required for our omakase menu, we highly recommend making reservations at least one to two weeks in advance. For weekend bookings or special occasions, we suggest booking even earlier to secure your preferred date. Reservations can be made easily through our website or by telephone with our staff.

Can the omakase menu accommodate specific dietary restrictions?

Yes, our chefs can often accommodate certain dietary restrictions, such as gluten intolerance or shellfish allergies, with sufficient advance notice. The 5 Days Rwanda Wildlife Safari is an exciting wildlife adventure combining the savannah landscapes of Akagera National Park with the rich biodiversity of Nyungwe National Park. The safari offers game drives, a boat cruise on Lake Ihema, chimpanzee tracking and rainforest exploration.

Akagera is Rwanda’s principal savannah wildlife destination, with opportunities to see elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and numerous antelope species. Lake Ihema adds a unique water-based experience, with opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles and abundant waterbirds. Nyungwe, meanwhile, provides a contrasting rainforest experience with chimpanzee tracking, colobus monkeys, hiking trails and excellent birding.

Day 01 :

Kigali – Akagera National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. After a briefing with your guide, depart Kigali and travel eastwards towards Akagera National Park.

Upon arrival, enter the park and proceed to your lodge for check-in and lunch. After some time to relax, embark on an afternoon game drive through the savannah plains.

Keep an eye out for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, impalas, warthogs and other wildlife. Akagera is also home to lions, rhinos and other iconic African wildlife.

Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 02 :

Akagera – Morning Game Drive & Lake Ihema Boat Cruise

Wake up early for breakfast before setting out on a morning game drive. The early hours provide excellent opportunities to observe wildlife while temperatures are cooler and animals are active.

Explore different sections of the park while searching for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and predators.

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, head to Lake Ihema for a boat cruise. The cruise offers a different perspective of Akagera, with opportunities to see hippos, Nile crocodiles and a variety of waterbirds along the lake shores.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 03 :

Akagera – Kigali – Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive as you leave Akagera National Park.You will then travel towards Kigali and continue southwest through Rwanda's scenic countryside towards Nyungwe National Park.The journey provides an opportunity to experience Rwanda's famous rolling hills, rural communities and changing landscapes.Arrive in the Nyungwe area in the evening, check into your accommodation and relax.Accommodation: Lodge/hotel near Nyungwe

Day 04 :

Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park for chimpanzee tracking.

Following a briefing by the park guides, enter the rainforest in search of one of Nyungwe's chimpanzee communities. Chimpanzee tracking provides an opportunity to observe these intelligent primates in their natural environment.

In addition to chimpanzees, you may encounter other primates and a variety of forest birds.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you can take a nature walk or enjoy another forest experience, depending on time and availability. Nyungwe has an extensive network of hiking trails and is particularly attractive to visitors interested in primates, birds and rainforest scenery.

Day 05 :

Nyungwe – Kigali – Departure

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kigali.

Depending on your departure time, you may have lunch in Kigali and enjoy a short city tour or visit a local attraction before proceeding to Kigali International Airport for your flight.

Your guide will transfer you to the airport in time for your scheduled departure, marking the end of your 5 Days Rwanda Wildlife Safari.
