What is the physical fitness level required for this tour?

A moderate level of fitness is recommended. Our itinerary includes daily walking tours of approximately 3-4 hours over city terrain, which may include cobblestones. The pace is comfortable with plenty of breaks, but you should be prepared for being on your feet. This tour is about urban exploration, not strenuous hiking or climbing.

Day 01 :

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly received by a Ruku Safaris & Adventures professional English-speaking driver-guide. After a short briefing about your safari, you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time, relax at the hotel or enjoy an optional walk along the shores of Lake Victoria. This is the perfect opportunity to unwind after your journey and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 02 :

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, begin your journey to Uganda's largest and oldest conservation area, Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting guided rhino tracking experience on foot, completing the first member of the African Big Five.

After lunch, continue north to Murchison Falls National Park. Before checking into your lodge, visit the Top of the Falls, where the mighty River Nile squeezes through a narrow 7-metre gorge before crashing 43 metres below—one of Uganda's most spectacular natural wonders.

Day 03 :

Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Nile Boat Cruise

Rise early for an unforgettable game drive across the northern savannah in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, leopards, hyenas, Uganda kobs and numerous antelope species. The park also hosts over 450 bird species, making it a paradise for bird lovers.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat safari along the Victoria Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. Watch large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and many bird species gathering along the riverbanks while taking in spectacular views of the falls.

Day 04 :

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls and travel southwest through scenic countryside, rolling hills, tea plantations and traditional villages towards Kibale Forest National Park, the primate capital of East Africa.

Arrive in the evening and relax at your lodge surrounded by lush tropical rainforest.

Day 05 :

Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off into Kibale Forest in search of wild chimpanzees. Besides chimpanzees, you may encounter black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, olive baboons and numerous bird species.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for its rich biodiversity, colourful birds, butterflies and community conservation initiatives.

Day 06 :

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy breakfast before driving south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's most visited safari destination. Along the journey, admire the breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains, crater lakes and the beautiful landscapes of western Uganda.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy an evening game drive to spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and other wildlife.

Day 07 :

Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Begin the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains in search of lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs and, with some luck, leopards.

In the afternoon, enjoy a memorable boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel, home to one of Africa's highest concentrations of hippos. Watch crocodiles basking on the shores while elephants and buffaloes gather to drink. The channel also offers exceptional birdwatching opportunities.

Day 08 :

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, travel through the scenic Ishasha Sector, famous for its unique tree-climbing lions (subject to luck), before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Arrive in the evening and prepare for the highlight of your safari—mountain gorilla trekking.

Day 09 :

Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience

Once found, spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play and interact in their natural habitat. This extraordinary wildlife encounter is often described as one of Africa's greatest experiences.

Return to the lodge for relaxation and celebration.

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
