This Ruku Safaris journey combines the spectacular slopes of Mount Elgon National Park with the wildlife-rich Kidepo Valley National Park, creating an exciting contrast between mountain adventure and Uganda’s remote northern wilderness. You will hike around Sipi Falls, discover local coffee farming, experience Bagisu culture and enjoy game drives in search of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes and other wildlife.

Day 01 :

Kampala – Jinja – Mbale – Sipi Falls

Your Ruku Safaris guide will pick you up early from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
Drive eastwards through Jinja towards Mbale and the Mount Elgon region. Enjoy the changing scenery as you pass through agricultural communities, plantations and rural villages.
Continue to Sipi Falls, arriving in the afternoon.
After checking into your lodge, take a short walk around the Sipi area and enjoy magnificent views of the waterfalls and surrounding countryside.

Day 02 :

Sipi Falls Hiking – Caves & Coffee Experience

After breakfast, embark on a guided Sipi Falls hike.

Explore the three main waterfalls, following scenic trails through local farms and communities. Along the way, discover caves and rock formations and enjoy spectacular views across the plains of eastern Uganda.

After lunch, experience a traditional Arabica coffee tour. Learn how local farmers grow, harvest, process, roast and prepare coffee.

Return to your lodge in the evening.

Day 03 :

Mount Elgon – Mbale – Moroto

After an early breakfast, leave the Sipi region and begin the journey north towards Karamoja.

Travel through eastern Uganda, passing changing landscapes and rural communities before reaching Moroto.

The journey provides an excellent introduction to the remote landscapes of northeastern Uganda.

In the afternoon, depending on arrival time, enjoy a short community or cultural experience around Moroto.

Day 04 :

Moroto – Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, continue your journey towards Kidepo Valley National Park.

The drive takes you deep into the remote Karamoja region, with spectacular views of mountains, plains and traditional homesteads.

Enter Kidepo Valley National Park and enjoy an introductory game drive as you make your way towards your lodge.

Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes and other wildlife.

Day 05 :

Full-Day Kidepo Valley Wildlife Safari

Wake up early for a full-day wildlife adventure in Kidepo Valley National Park.

Enjoy a morning game drive through the park's expansive savannah plains. Kidepo is one of Uganda's most remote and spectacular wildlife destinations.

Day 06 :

Kidepo – Karamojong Cultural Experience – Moroto

Enjoy an early morning game drive before leaving Kidepo.
Later, travel towards Moroto, stopping for a Karamojong cultural experience.
Visit a traditional manyatta and learn about the community's pastoral lifestyle, traditions, music, dance and cultural heritage.
Continue to Moroto for your overnight stay.

Day 07 :

Moroto – Jinja/Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Kampala or Entebbe.

Travel through the beautiful landscapes of eastern Uganda, with stops along the way for photographs and refreshments.

Depending on your departure arrangements, you can stop in Jinja for lunch or an optional visit to the Source of the Nile before continuing to Kampala or Entebbe.

Transfer to your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
